The walk is on October 4. The Inland Valley Foster Parent Association (IVFPA) is organizing our community’s first “Somebody Loves Me 5k” fundraiser to support children of kinship and foster families in San Bernardino County. Sponsored by the IVFPA, the event is designed to raise awareness of kinship and foster care children, support education, advocacy, and services that pave the way for our children’s dreams to become reality.

I got involved because foster children is something that is close to my heart becaue my mother has 8. It will give foster children a chance to dream and receive love gifts that they not ever get in foster care. This will give these thousands of children a little hope and kick start their minds to become someone great and productive in life. the funds received from the walk-a-thon goes toward scholarships and tutoring with activities that promotes and exposes a child to be motivated to succeed. Lastly, monies received will also be used to provide relief to kinship and foster families.
